The National League of Nursing (NLN) is a nation-wide association for the faculty of leaders and nurses formed in 1893. The primary purpose of the formation of this association is to assist nurses in faculty activities, opportunities through networking, testing services, and research funding ( The NLN Vision for Transforming Research in Nursing Education, 2013) . It also aids in defining the roles and responsibilities of the nurse instructors.

The core competencies of NLN are diverse. One of them is that nurse educators are required to facilitate learning by ensuring that they create an environment in a laboratory and classroom for the achievement of student affective and cognitive outcome. They also help students develop to be a nurse and aid in socializing, use evaluation, and assessment methods to appraise students ( The NLN Vision for Transforming Research in Nursing Education, 2013) . Also, they are responsible for formulating and developing the nursing curriculum, act as role models to nurse by being the change leader, and finally, perform continuous enhancement in the nursing role. The similarities with the MN590 course is that the outcome will be used in improving the health care aftermaths. They both advocate for change leaders and agents to shape the health care results for residents and individuals ( Tagliareni, 2013). The outcomes will be utilized in evidence-based practice to make informed decisions.

Besides, Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is an essential pillar of nursing and expectancy in clinical practice. The competencies and outcomes will help me to care for patients. As students, we were taught the importance of providing high-quality care to patients in our generation. The provision of high-quality health care is supported by evidence that took several years to be accepted in clinical training. In the development of EBP project, the competencies and outcomes will assist me as a student since I can propose the implementation of evidence-based practices to other nurses as a standard practice by embracing its positivity ( Tagliareni, 2013). . Also, it can help me in coming up with a journal club together with other nurses to bring change in the sections where we are working. It will also assist me in being a change leader and never to be afraid of advocating for the care of patients. Since EBP is research-based, it will motivate me to do more research on patient’s conditions and be proactive in proposing EBP during a clinical section.

In conclusion, EBP can be used to lower the cost of health service provision and ensure that services provided are of high quality. It can act as a strategy for decision making and policy development. For the advancement of EBP in nursing training, the government needs to provide funds and scholarships to students doing a nursing course.
