Old age comes with some positive, yet many people don't believe or have refused to be live on this fact. First, old age is all about having grandchildren; this is a source of happiness to the older people. Secondly, old age comes with the happier look than in the young age. This is also a source of positive since they feel satisfied in life. Old age is about having time for the love ones since there is no commitment. Nothing is more appealing than spending time with people we love. Also, old age means or provides an opportunity for individuals to pursue dreams. This helps them build a stronger foundation for the family. It also comes with participation to continue or engage in civic participation which helps in stress reduction. It also comes with a lot of wisdom, and this is important for the family. Old age comes with better social life since one enjoys his or her wealth. It also comes with empathy, and this is positive as they old people often help many individuals in case they are in need.

Old age also comes with reduced income which means that it cans either be positive or negative depending on the wealth accumulation of the individuals as well as commitment. Old age comes with Medicare if the staff member is the USA born or citizens. This reduces expense on care. Social security is another part of old age. It involves self-accomplishment hence reduces stress. It is also accompanied by senior discounts ( Reed & Carstensen, 2012). Old age also comes with more chances of connecting with others. It also comes with more experience in the environment which prolongs knowledge and life. It also comes with more time to explore and come up with other ideas which matter most. It comes with appreciation to the community and others people around. It also comes with sensitivity and sympathy. It comes with stability and mental strength as one has achieved all things they wanted in life and many others.

Roberta’s case

Roberta is currently on small pay since she has already retired from her work at the private hospital where she worked for twenty years as LPN. Currently, she only provides LPN services to willing neighbors and families who pay little money. At old age, poverty encroaches due to many risks, first is financial instability which brings about stress. Alternatively, there is health risk which consumes a lot of money and last is dependence on the active and working group. She is a typical in her age cohort. For Roberta, work is all about services to get money for daily activities such as buying movies. She seems to be in love with providing LPN services and cannot retire soon even with financial stability.

Olivia’s case

Socioeconomic status is an obstacle to Olivia’s standard life. She is seeking for a better job with a better payment to offer extended family social and financial support. To Olivia, retirement means being in a position to help the family become stable economically. Roberta is LPN, and she is the main caregiver in the family. Individuals such as Roberta are often overlooked as caregivers due to their financial instability.
