Thread one.
I would agree with you that the role that the media plays in the "War of Terror" is probably bigger and greater than we think it is. First things first, terrorism can be compared to the propaganda of action, as it is in a way, convincing communication, either through the spread of fear or the attacks themselves. We can also say it is a dyslogistic word about the same. This is true as the media, whether in visuals or written forms, gives the terrorist publicity and as witnessed during the 9/11 attack which drew the picture of the relationship between the media and terrorism (Nakhla, 2016). To that effect also, as you said they gain publicity by acceptance of their crimes on television as rarely do terrorists fail to claim the attacks.
In addition to that, I would also like to bring out a conflicting statement in the thread that you don't believe media enjoys reporting terrorism activities, bearing in mind that your first statement was this was bigger than we thought and also you added that media fuels the same. In my opinion, low key, the media enjoys this trending news about terrorism as this increases their revenue and broadens their reach. Going by the US Department of State ( National Consortium for the Study of Terrorism and Response to Terrorists; Annex of Statistical information 2015) research, it revealed that there was a thirty-five percent increase in total terror attacks between 2013 and 2014 worldwide and a significant increase in the number of deaths by Eighty percent (Nakhla, 2016) . This surely confirms what was said about how the onward development of technology enables newer and more efficient ways to create terror.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
However it is clear to note you did not mention terrorist financing.
Thread two.
I would agree with you that from terrorist activities both parties (media and terrorists) gain from terrorism activities. The media gains by streaming the news hence they do get larger coverage, hence there are averagely nine incidents reported per day around the globe involving terrorist activities.
By saying media reaches millions, terrorists surely take advantage of this having a strategy in mind which involves first, making use of the press to present themselves as powerful before the general public (Howard, 2016). Secondly, they make use of the media to put their message across; either if they want to recruit or raise funds from sympathizers. And finally they use the media to intimidate the superpowers and modern Muslims who don't believe in Jihadism that much.
