This union represents about 2 million workers serving in over 100 different occupations in the United States and Canada. This interest group focuses on representing the welfare of workers from three sectors of healthcare, public and property services. In terms of the local branches, this interest group has over 150 of them. Its international headquarters is in Washington, D.C. This interest group is a major supporter and campaign financier for the Democrat Party. It is also a major supporter of the Affordable Care Act as well as the increased minimum wage law.

The interest group needs to embrace the idea of a savings plan for its members, who are mostly low class workers. This idea involves the interest group setting a financial department would organize its members in making monetary savings every month. The savings will go a kitty from which the members can then be borrowing loans at a very low interest rate of even 2%. The goal of this idea would to improve the welfare and standards of living for its members. This idea only needs the interest group to set up premises that would operate like a savings bank for the members. The labor union will then need human resources to oversee the operations of the savings bank.
The mission of this labor union has always been uniting families for the purpose of raising the wages as well as achieving justice on all fronts of life. It has been implementing efforts geared towards achieving this mission. The idea of a savings scheme for its members is a very effective way of raising the income of the families, who can take loans and start projects generating money. Moreover, the improvement of the standard of living for the members when they start accessing cheap credit from this savings scheme is a way of giving them justice. Therefore, this is an idea that will significantly help the labor union in achieving success in its efforts to improve wages and justice for families of its members.
