Mental and physical health is key to the good health of any individual. These two factors coupled with emotional well-being are critical to the overall health of any person. These two health factors are normally influenced by the personality of an individual. It is believed that personality can either influence health positively or negatively. This assignment discusses the effects of personality on the physical and the mental health.
Alzheimer disease and Parkinson disease usually require critical care to ensure recovery. These conditions normally occur in the later stages of life and are considered to be degenerative. Their personality is important in the recovery process as it determines the outcome of survival. People who grow while confident or generally possessing positive attitude have a greater chance of surviving these condition. The belief that the health can improve is critical to the survival process. A positive attitude creates a euphoric feeling that helps the brain improve (Sheinbaum et al., 2015).

The personality influences the experience of the recovery process. The research process reveals subclinical positive symptoms that reveal that the patients have higher chances of recovering from the situation. The positive symptoms are measured with a comprehensive assessment of at-risk which is a combination of scales that seeks to assess the seven domains of psychosis prodrome. A major difference is believed to occur among patients in terms of the mental an physical conditions. The disparity is contributed to the existence of a difference in personality. Describing personality, in this case, involves giving a description of the differences in the way people perceive things. A good analogy is that of half full or half empty glass of milk. The judgment made depends on someone’s personality (Twenge & Campbell, 2017)..
The patients who are usually restless have the problem of being overstressed, and therefore they would not have a quick recovery. In fact, the mental conditions of these patients are considered unstable, and the best that can be done is to put them under special care. At this state, it is required that the patients should be under special care for 24 hours each day. In this state, they are so unpredictable, and the best way to understand their condition is to deal with each condition at a time. Every wrong action they take should be taken seriously, and possible treatment or management plan applied (Sheinbaum et al., 2015).
The social support given to the patients is useful in sharping their personality. Having close family members around you is used for the recovery. The more family members these patients have around them, the better they become every day. In fact, the greatest impact of the family members is the fact that they bring joy and encouragement to the patients. This joy boosts their personality and makes them feel greater about themselves. The better the patients feel, the more they grow mentality and improve physically. It is understood that a stable mental condition results in strong body physique. The fact that all these could arise from a well-nurtured personality gives great hope to the patients and their family to these conditions that need proper management (Sheinbaum et al., 2015).
The most important attribute that influences personality and later their mental and physical state of the patients is love. This has to originate from the family members and the caregivers. Research indicates that analysis of the association that exists between the caregiver and the patient is important in understanding the best management practice for the patients. In fact, the stronger the association, the better the personality of the patients and the stronger the physical state and the mental ability (Twenge & Campbell, 2017).
The attachment styles that exist between the patient and the caregiver are important for all diseases that require being managed because of the lack of treatment. In most cases, these patients require someone who gives them hope and not people who look down upon them. The insecure attachment between the patients and their caregivers usually results in a situation in which the patient feels shy from sharing with their nurses. In this situation, it would be difficult for the patients to open up about what they feel thus keep even important issues that would have helped the caregiver to manage them better. On the contrary, the caregivers would be confused about the best practice for helping their patients. This is an awkward situation that presents a dilemma in the nursing set-up, and the only solution is to find the best ways to deal with the condition (Sheinbaum et al., 2015).
The personality of the caregiver would be critical in improving the mental and physical state of the patients since they would influence the behavior of the patients. Patients feel comfortable around lovable people thus their mental condition will be at peace, and this influences even their physical state (Twenge & Campbell, 2017).
In conclusion, it is evident that strong association exist between personality, mental state, and the physical condition. This means that it is very important for Alzheimer patients who require management in most situation. An understanding of the association behavior is critical to the management of this condition.
