Introduction

The paper identifies what an individual does when faced with a challenge. Additionally, it identifies various steps an individual takes to solve a problem and ensure the challenge is solved adequately. Therefore, the paper analyzes the six steps of solving problems. It analyzes the first example provided, where an individual has to choose between working at his current position to further his education or change his job to increase his income. The paper presents a synthetic approach to the challenge provided.

Scenario 1: The Challenge in this Scenario

The challenge in the scenario above is that the said individual has worked for the organization for an extended period ; therefore, letting him further his or her learning and receiving a bachelor’s degree. However, the said individual had been given a different offer from another corporation, which pays him or her more compared to his or her current position. Nonetheless, the company does not have an education incentive, which his or her present employer is offering. For his new role , he or she is required to have a master’s degree. However, because the organization does not offer education compensation, it cripples his odds of advancement while the current employer offer’s education reimbursement. Nonetheless, his or her current employer does not pay him as much compared to a fifteen percent salary increase, which the other organization offered for the new position. The whole challenge breaks down into education and financial.

Problem Analysis

The said individual has been employed for the organization, which he or she is currently working on , for eleven years. Additionally, the employee has devoted his or her effort and time to maintain an outstanding job routine. The employee has worked hard to get a bachelor’s degree, which will further his or her growth within the organization in a readable and increasing form. The business that the person currently works at rewards his or her outstanding dedication by recommending him or her for an advanced salary position with a different company.

The individual in this scenario is grateful for the organization’s significant gesture of assisting him or her to advance his career . However, he or she is hesitant to take such an opportunity based on his or her learning progression, which the new position does not assist him or her to acquire. The individual analyzes every aspect of the exchange. However, the employee has not fully finished his or her degree. Additionally, the new position needs him or her to move in two weeks. The advancement may alter the date, which he or she is to graduate, which will require him to push his bachelor’s degree. If the individual accepts, it may cause him or her to lose the education reimbursement, which he or she is getting from the current employer. Therefore, it will cause the employee to pay his or her tuition from his savings or get financial loans. Using his or her saving or acquiring financial loans may be difficult for the individual and could put him or her into debt. Leaving the current employer during this time may be unethical because of his education. Nevertheless, an opportunity of advancing his or her career in a different organization may take a while if he or she does not take the opportunity. Therefore, the cost of living and financial stability are also important aspects, which the individual should consider and analyze.

Options

Possible solutions for this challenge would be; first, one should ask the new organization whether they could extend the reporting date ( The Problem Solving Process, 2015) . An extension will enable one to ensure that they have completed their education and received a degree, which allows one to enter into the new position without debt and full qualifications. If the corporation agrees, the person will have additional time to complete his or her obligations and study the new business . An additional option would be for the employee to talk to his or her new employers concerning his or her education advancement, although the organization does not offer the option formally. It would be something, which the company offers if an individual accepts the job position. However, consulting the current employer about a possible salary increase is another option that one may consider. Since the individual has worked for the organization for eleven years and performed well during this period, hence the recommendation, it may be sensible for the organization to retain him or her and offer the person more money since he or she is valuable to the business.

Options Evaluation

If the company agrees to delay the reporting date, it may give the said individual addition time to complete his or her degree including other obligations. The person may have a chance to research about the organization, research about his or her position, and identify areas where he or she will live. An individual will have additional time to study the organization’s financial stability and evaluate their finances to ensure that they are making the correct decision for them and their family.

There exist numerous things to reflect upon about the new position. Even though the employee may earn an extra fifteen percent of his current salary, he or she may not last work for the organization for an extended period, putting him or her in a challenging position of being unemployed. During this period, he or she could consult with the new organization about their plans for him or her. By doing this, one can know if they will be beneficial to the business, which may help in ensuring that he or she is making the right move. If the corporation does not allow him or her an educational advancement, the salary increase may enable the person to pay for his or her education or they might consider staying in his or her company and request for a salary increase.

The Best Option

The ultimate option for solving this challenge would be to evaluate and analyze every aspect of his or her choice of both moving and accepting the new offer or staying in his or her current position and requesting a salary increase ( Six Step Problem Solving Process, 2015) . Therefore, asking the new employer for an extension is the best option because it will allow the employee to consider everything else and decide if the company he or she is currently working for is better for his or her future.

Implementation

Executing this choice ought to be simple, because of depending exclusively on that underlying inquiry, of requesting that the new boss defer the begin date. So much can be resolved in that time and can give him or her productive time to settle on a firm and moral choice. Measuring his options , he or she should first consider the majority of the positives and choose based on the masters in the core leadership process. On the off chance that the organization consents to defer the begin date and consents to offer some training motivator while committing his chance and endeavors to the organization, at that point, his devotion will be with this organization, and he will acknowledge their new offer of business.
