As companies seek to transport resources from one point to another, management teams may be affected by the dilemma of choosing the best transport mode for the actualization of such activities. The coordination and movement of business resources should be done after a wide-raging consultation, coordination and decision making that significantly considers reducing cost while at the same time enhancing convenience. Although there are various modes and systems of transportation of goods in the corporate world, air freight and sea freight methods offer convenience and cost-efficacy depending on different circumstances.
The factors that guide which method of transportation a company should adopt include; the size of the cargo meant for transportation, the expected time of arrival, the cost, and the policy and regulatory frameworks guiding movement of goods from place to another. Based on the above factors, companies can make an informed decision in regards to which mode of transportation to use and still remain focused on achieving the organizational goals and objectives ( Majerčák et al., 2018 ).

It is imperative to compare both the air freight and the sea freight modes of transporting goods. For instance, air freight mode offers faster, safer and reliable transportation services for companies. However, the volume of cargo that can be transported through the air freight services is quite low as compared to the sea freight mode ( Majerčák et al., 2018 ). Therefore, when dealing with light and urgently needed resources, companies are expected to consider using air freight services. When the cargo expected to be transported is large and voluminous, sea transport remains to be the most effective, cheap and convenient mode of transportation ( Kristiansen , 2013). The advantages of using sea freight are; it offers more capacity for a company to transport goods and enhances value for transportation as far as cost is concerned. However, sea freight offers slow services hence not convenient for urgently needed goods.
In conclusion, both the air freight and sea freight modes are efficient for the transportation of goods for most companies. Since companies are known to get involved in the transportation of goods in bulk, sea freight remains to be the most convenient mode of transportation.
