Recently it has emerged as the leader and the largest company in the world with more than 17,900 employees globally. The company is listed in NASDAQ-100 and S&P 500 with a trading symbol of AMGN.

Financial Details 

Amgen it has a market capitalization of approximately $117.7 billion. In the fiscal year 2017 income statement, the total revenue amounted to $20.63 billion and an operating profit of $6.291 billion. The net income after interest and tax was $5.158 billion. The balance sheet of the same fiscal year had total assets exceeding $600 billion.

Overall Financial Growth/Changes 

Revenue: Over the last ten years, the company has experienced substantial revenue growth. For instance, in 2014, 2015, and 2016, the revenue has been increasing at 15.27%, 3.27%, and 2.63% correspondingly. However, in the year 2017, it declined slightly by 2.29% due to overall slowdown and recession in the pharmaceutical industry.

Assets: For the last decade, the assets of the company have increased with more than 136% an increased which has recorded annually. This shows a high level of capital expenditure on assets acquisition. The table below summarizes the changes in assets over the recent past years.

Liabilities: Over the last ten years, the company had only one exceptional increase in liability 66.97% in the year 2016. This result from the issue of convertible notes worth $1.778 billion. In the subsequent year, the liabilities decreased by 4.25$ after settling 50% of its long-term liability.
