Authentic transformational leaders are real transformational leaders who apply their skills in leadership and charisma to influence their followers and employees into believing in them and their vision and thereby enabling the transformation of an organization (Kraft, 2019). Pseudo-transformational leaders on the other hand are the direct opposite of authentic transformational leaders. They possess charisma and skill in leadership; however, they often abuse these skills and influence, using them to manipulate their followers to maximize their personal gains at the expense of the organization.
An example of authentic transformational leaders includes Elon Musk, the founder and CEO of Tesla, Space X, and several other companies while the counterpart pseudo-transformational leader includes Adolf Hitler leader of the Nazi resistance during the Second World War.

According to Bluepointe (2017), five of Musk's significant and most impactful characteristics as a leader include having an entrepreneurial spirit, a passion for innovation, influencing positive energy, having a strategic direction, and general personal intelligence and influence. All these characteristics enable him to chart transformational paths for his various companies and get his followers on board to freely and passionately work with him towards the achievement. Hitler on the other hand despite possessing almost all these qualities was also narcissistic and eliminated anyone or anything to be able to achieve his own goals and objectives making him a pseudo-transformational leader.
Elon Musk is known to be an avid team player and has previously inspired and motivated his employees and personal towards believing in and helping him achieve various organizations' set goals. Hitler on the other hand contributed to the murder of many lives including the infamous holocaust to advance racist indulgences.
