Abstract 

The current dispensation of information technology introduces a new era in accounting that is dominated by an excess supply of data in organizational systems. Big data in accounting implies huge sets of data that, upon analysis, reveal close relations. The paper shall depict the impression of big data on contemporary accounting. Besides, the role of data analytics in addressing big data feature in the paper. Moreover, the paper shall also present various approaches that can be adapted to address the emerging issue of big data in accounting based on the perceptions of various authors.
