Community policing refers to the philosophy which promotes organizational plans supporting the systematic problem-solving and partnership techniques application to address proactively the conditions which are the precursors to issues of public safety including social disorder, crime fear and the crime itself (COPS, 2014). For the purpose of the safety and security of the Nova community, there must be a model for community policing. The best model for community policing for the Nova people would be the Community Oriented Policing (COP) model.
Community-oriented policing model aims at solving problems without being biased since the proximity to the police enriches the community with the skills of being unbiased. The community-oriented policing model is very efficient and reliable thus beneficial to the citizens. With this model, citizens and the police get to spend ample time collaborating together for the purposes of solving disorders and crime problems within the community (City of San Diego, 2018). More so, this policing model improves on the communication between the police and the citizens, thus improving the relationship that they have with one another which in return fosters unity thus curbing crime and behaviors of disorder within the community. Officers are usually provided with the chance of knowing the community very well in depth considering the fact that they interact daily with the people. Having the knowledge of the community makes its simple for the community and the police to easily discover threats and act quickly thus keeping the community safe. In addition, they can link up people within the community with private and public agencies for the purposes of helping solve concerns arising within the community. This policing model allows officers to make camps within the community and even hold meetings on a monthly basis so as to improve on the community’s security (Brown, 2018).

Community-oriented policing would be crucial to the safety and security of the Nova people and the whole community at large. With the relations that this policing model emphasizes on, the community is bound to remain safe all the times. This policing model brings together the police professionals, neighbourhood and community leaders, as well as government officials for the purposes of evaluating and identifying the community problems thus works together in tackling them (Roufa, 2018). In addition, COP model, not only takes the problems perceptions of the police into considerations but also the community needs, expectations as well as the desires in the formulation of responses which are appropriate (Roufa, 2018). The COP model would not just be for the purposes of ensuring security and safety in the Nova community but also enhance relations. COP model of community policing has the ability to create relations and thus can be used in improving relations within the community between the police and the citizens and even grow outside the community thus fostering unity from mutual understanding (Kerfeld, et. al, 2017).
Community policing encompasses three major components which it incorporates in its tasks, they include organizational transformation, community partnership, and problem-solving. Partnership within the community offers a collaborative corporation primarily between the organizations and individuals and law enforcement agency which they serve for the purposes of developing amicable solutions to the existing and arising problems in addition to increasing the belief in the police. Organizational transformation, on the other hand, deals with the alignment which is there on structure, organizational management, information systems and personnel supporting the community's partnership as well as the practical problem-solving. Then, there is problem-solving, which refers to the procedure of engaging in systematic and the proactive examination of the problems which have been identified to evaluate and develop an effective response. All these three components are a key to the success of the community policing model directly depending on each other (COPS, 2014). The COP model of community policing follows a routine and systematic fashion in solving problems. This way, COP is able to impact the community greatly by impacting crime activities and disorderly behaviors (Przeszlowski, & Crichlow, 2018).
It is no doubt that the best model for community policing for the Nova people would be the Community Oriented Policing (COP) model. This policing model concentrates on establishing rapport and building relations between the community and the officers so as to prevent crime more effectively. Over the years the need for a policing model has been raising and many communities around the world have developed one for the purpose of their own safety.
