Democratic leadership is a participation kind of leadership that suits me because I prefer involving other team members in the decision making processes as I value sharing and exchanging of ideas. I like to allow everyone to participate in the leadership process where discussion is encouraged for people to exchange their ideas. This kind of leadership suits me because I am flexible, and I make decisions based on my morals and values. I like to inspire those that are under me so that they can equally contribute to the leadership process. Additionally, I work well by seeking a wide range of opinions from others as I love to hear new opinions and ideas.

Tim Cook, the current CEO of Apple, is a democratic leader who is autocratic in his decision throughout his entire leadership period. He has principles and a character that is democratic and has social skills that enabled him to interact with others. His good leadership style enables him to persuade and lead great teams. Tim is a leader who relies on the people he leads and recognizes his team members’ success (Bhatti et al., 2012). Additionally, he is a leader who is open to criticism and debate as he values dialogue within the society that he leads and advocates for the opinions of others to correct his mistakes.

The Apple CEO has a responsibility to ensure the smooth and successful running of the business. He has to represent Apple and plan the strategic business objectives. The CEO must oversee, approve or reject proposals from other leaders in the organization and this calls for a team effort in his leadership to make essential decisions. Democratic leadership would have helped the CEO work with others to come up with different ideas that determine the organization’s long-term success. He initiated programs and policies with team members’ help that ensure effective business processes and the management of resources.
