Having graduated with a low score in my undergraduate studies, I feel that my academic performance then does not gives an accurate indication of my potential for success on the applied program. My reasons are as discussed below.
The first reason for my low score in my undergraduate studies was my real time engagement in business activities that took up most of my study time. The business activities entailed running our family businesses as well as owning a personal business enterprise. The work in these businesses was enjoyable but deeply involving. As a result, I spent most of my study time taking care of the businesses instead of studying. Eventually, I got too much involved in business with the result being a loss of academic focus. The loss of academic focus resulted in low grades that gave me a low score for my graduate degree.

Secondly, I had a significant interest in the medical field and thus chose to pursue an undergraduate degree with a major in Biological Sciences. As I progressed with my studies, I realized that my grades were not improving despite the efforts I made. This performance trend triggered me to explore my real interest which I found to be in Business, Finance, and Entrepreneurship and not in Medicine. From this realization, I decided to study an MBA course after graduation and the results were affirmative. I excelled and received a 3.90 GPA which was way higher than my graduate score of 2.57 GPA. From that point, I have always excelled in business courses as reflected in my recent GMAT score of 710. Other than excelling in Business programs, I have worked as a financial consultant for Prudential California Realty, NuVision Federal Credit Union, and Anthem Inc. where my performance has been more than impressive.
With the facts presented above, I have proved beyond any reasonable doubt that my potential is far above my low GPA for Graduate school. Therefore, I am very optimistic that you will consider me for the Master in Finance program.
