Since mid-March, major sporting activities like football and athletics were canceled to combat COVID-19. Andreato et al. (2020) reiterate that the pandemic had led to approximately $12.3 billion in mid-July losses. The cancellation also resulted in a loss of 1.3 million jobs for coaches, scouts, aerobics instructors, and fitness trainers, and recreation attendants. Despite the downturn in economic realities due to COVID-19, sports managers need to develop strategies such as force majeure clause and playing behind closed doors ( Gallego et al., 2020) .
Games such as the premier league rely heavily on broadcasting rights and that they have to pay. The impacts of sports cancelation and postponing have led to inevitable losses on media, nontraditional sports, and the global context benefiting from the sports industry. Notably, nontraditional games such as rugby have also been canceled, leading to job losses among sportsmen, women, and coaches ( Mohr et al., 2020) . The withdrawal also caused a reduction in revenues paid to media for advertisement purposes resulting in dismissing part of the staff. International travel for sporting practices has also diminished, impacting negatively to the globalization of sport.
