Frederick can file a case under the IP law since he has a stamped research paper as proof of being the architect of the business idea. He deserves to be recognized as the architect of the idea and be accorded the benefits. If the professors cooperate, they should have a written agreement and perhaps a statement indicating that Frederick is the originator of the idea they devised and they agree to pay all the damages and grant him the necessary financial gain. Filing a case in court should come in as the last option in case the professors do not cooperate. But if after presenting his evidence the court rules against him then he should let go of the case.
