The contemporary world has transformed in the manner in which adverts and commercials are designed to achieve various objectives. The misuse of feminism and development of unhealthy feministic stereotypes continue to erode the sanity of adverts and commercials. Sexuality features in the current adverts and commercials as a significant element of appealing to the target audience. Women in the US and the world at large have fallen victims of the ill stereotypes on sexuality that many contemporary industries uphold.

I am interested in the advert "BIRTHRIGHT. A WAR STORY" that features in the Ms. Magazine and it seeks to market the movie "BIRTHRIGHT. A WAR STORY". The advert is relevant to the subject of the paper as it depicts messages that resonate with the theme of feminism and body politics (Hobson, 2014). The message of the advert is that stereotypes of feminism are hurting the contemporary woman unnoticing.

Analysis of the Advertisement

The advert highlights the plight of women in regards to the dangerous activity that reproduction has become in the contemporary world. The advert sends a powerful message to the target audience that women in American are struggling to adapt to the dangerous experience that reproduction has become (Hobson, 2014). The advert resonates with the documentary "Killing Us Softly," as it highlights the stereotypes that continue to hurt the existence of women in the US and the world at large. The advert points out that reproduction problems are projected on women because of the stereotype that binds a woman as the only part of marriage that is responsible for the reproduction problem (Moura-Kocoglu. (n.d). The theme of the advert resonates with the theme of "Killing Us Softly." The theme of the documentary is that the contemporary world has developed stereotypes which pile undue pressure to the feminine gender.

Analysis 1 of a Peer's Chosen Advert and its Relevance to the "Killing Us Softly" Documentary

My first peer's chosen advert is "Going to the pharmacy is so 90s. Skip the Trip Each Month," which advertises the "Pandia health" company. The advert features a photo of three ladies who pose an intimate sexist position. The three ladies in the photo of the advert appear to be in a sexual mood. The advert resonates with the "Killing Us Softly" as it depicts how feminism and sexuality are misused in the contemporary advertisement industry (Hobson, 2014). The documentary "Killing Us Softly" strongly highlights the perpetual act of the current advertisement agencies in using the women to produce sexually appealing adverts as a strategy of marketing products (Moura-Kocoglu. (n.d).

Analysis 2 of a Peer's Chosen Advert and its Relevance to the 'Killing Us Softly" Documentary

My second peer's chosen advert is "BRING Ms. INTO YOUR CLASSROOM." The advert features in Ms. Magazine, and its purposes top market the magazine to learners. The advert is an example of the misuse of feminism in adverts and commercials (Hobson, 2014). The problem with the advert is the connotation that implies to readers. Ms. Magazine is a credible magazine in society, but it is not ideal for usage in a classroom setting. The advert compels learners to bring in the issues that Ms. Magazines discusses in a classroom context (Case Study Lecture PPT. (n.d). The phenomenon is a clear abuse of feminism and womanhood in general. The advert resonates with the documentary "Killing Us Softly," as both projects the undue extent to which feminism is used in adverts (Moura-Kocoglu. (n.d). The advert is addressing the wrong target audience, and the phenomenon depicts the misplacement of feminism in contemporary adverts and commercials.
