Homeland Security Enterprise is one of the interesting topics I have learned so far. Getting to know more about its mission and vision was a great eye opener in learning their main roles in securing the motherland. Some of the interesting topics I learnt are the responsibility of homeland security in combating terrorism, border and cyberspace security, and the scope of homeland security on securing the homeland.
Participating in discussion was a fruitful part of learning to me. During lectures, it is difficult to master everything that is taught. Discussions make students bring out the areas they understood best and this makes it easy for another student to understand what he/she had not been able to understand in class (Barbara, 2009). To me, I was able to learn a lot from reading other students’ posts. I was also able to compare their understanding with mine hence being sure that what I was able to learn was correct. Sometimes, it is easy to misunderstand a concept and getting through discussions helps to confirm that the right concept was taken in (Brookfield & Preskill, 2005). I was also able to challenge other students’ understanding on the concept of prioritizing the homeland security mission areas and this was able to broaden my understanding on this field. The discussion was exhaustive and most of the topics are now clear to me and no further clarification is necessary at this point.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Discussions take more time to exhaust the whole course and some information may not be relayed as most students try to compress their posts. Class presentations could have been more suitable to reinforce the discussion as it brings all the students together hence providing an opportunity for immediate response on areas that need clarification (Mathew, 2005). Students could also share a wide range of information that they cannot be able to put them in their discussions.

I enjoyed reading your post. You have clearly outlined some of the important aspects that were discussed in class regarding the scope of homeland security. I was able to understand more on the focus areas that the homeland security mission covers and this has made me enhance the knowledge I had on why such areas are essential in boosting the security of the homeland. Your vivid explanation on how terrorism as a main challenge in the country’s security has necessitated the use of modern technology was informative. The question that arises after reading your post, however, is what criteria did you use to determine the prioritization of the security’s missions. You only mentioned cyberspace but did not give more information on how securing the nation’s cyberspace is done, probably you need to make more clarification on this. Your discussion borrows a lot form mine since you were able to clearly explain some of the topics that were interesting and you were able to show your excellent understanding of homeland security

It was interesting reading your post. I was able to relate with your post because it has a number of similarities. Just like me, you enjoyed some of the topics in the course and you found them interesting. Your way of explaining the responsibilities of homeland security was on point and this showed that you had a good understanding of the topic. After reading your post, the question that arise is what technological advances has the homeland security employed in safeguarding the country’s borders as well as combating terrorism? I would like to get some clarification on how the use of radar has enhanced the security of the country. The difference between this post and mine however is the discussion on the mission areas of homeland security. Your discussion is not exhaustive on issues relating to recovery and protection.
