Linear relationship between social support and job performance
According to previous studies, supportive environments have been found to be vital in bringing about work satisfaction among employees. Linear regression will determine if a relationship exists between the social support that one receives and their job performance.

Hypotheses
H a : There is no linear relation between soc (social support) and (perf) job performance
H a : There is a linear relation between soc (social support) and (perf) job performance
SPSS output
Value of (r=0.363) shows a strong positive measure of correlation between the variables. (R 2 =0.132) signifies that 13.2% of the variation in job performance is explained by the support that one received. Value of significance (p=0.004) is less than 0.05 and we can, therefore, reject the claim that there is no linear relation between the two variables. An increased support meant an increase in an individual’s job performance. The model is seen to predict the dependent variable significantly.

Regression equation is:
Outcome of job performance test = 0.402 (outcome of social support test) + 39.717
The scatter graph of the linear relation is shown below
Possibility of potential problems
The Adjusted R square=0.132 is not large enough which indicates that the model failed to do a very good job to predict work performance.
