Among the duties of a supply manager is communicating with all types of people. Another role is ensuring the transportation of the goods is smooth and the stipulated procedures and process are followed. They oversee the laying down of long and short-term plans and conduct inventory analyses of the warehouses. They are also in charge of creating reports for the stall holders with all the necessary data and insights with regards to the current stock levels. They manage the operations in a warehouse and implement strategies to improve efficiency and quality performance in a store. 

Supplier relationship management is beneficial. First, it makes quick and informed relationship which helps in improving the strategies of generating better supplies. Second, reduces the cost incurred from renegotiation or termination of a contract. Third, it leads to innovations involving supplying and delivering services which generate from building an excellent collaborative relationship. Fourth, it also improves general operations, henceforth leading to sharing of ideas and feedback in the business. Lastly, it also consolidates the well equipped team to assisting each other hence promoting cooperation and further reducing the operation cost, significantly reducing the operational value.

The different types of supplier relationship management relationships include; a buyer-seller relationship which relies heavily on excellent communication from both parties, a collaborative relationship which builds on trust and commitment from both sides. Its main advantage is that offers long-term contract and the transactional relationship which is preferred when there are many suppliers which create less loyalty to a particular supplier instead keeping focus on different suppliers. Comprehensively, the supplier relationship management has recognizable benefits and this marks the importance of good business relationship between the business partners and the suppliers.
