I come from a small village in the rural parts of my country, China. Getting a decent education has been one of the most challenging things in my life. My family does not have a substantial income stream, which is substantial enough to provide a child with quality education. Through hard-work and determination, I managed to secure a scholarship that enabled me to complete my primary school education. Having completed my elementary school education, I quickly realized that I was the only person with a decent chance of bringing change to my family, my siblings did not have the privilege of accessing quality education. Through my success, I believed, and still believe, that I can pull my family from the depths of poverty and provide them with a decent lifestyle. This filled me with an undying determination to study more and excel in the corporate world.
The relentless determination to excel at the highest level pushed me into searching and landing another scholarship for my high school education. Going through University was a bit easier because I could access a student loan that served me for the time that I was a Bachelor of Science in accounting student, at the Townson University. I am currently pursuing a Masters’ degree in accounting and advisory services in the same university. Again, I rely heavily on the student loan to make this possible.

Reason you Feel You Should Receive a Scholarship
I am an active participant in community service activities at my University and I have successful led various groups of people in different capacities. To put my leadership role into perspective, I have been the Vice President and Treasurer for the National Association of Black Accountants since January 2014 to date. Additionally, I have served in the roles of Webmaster/Social Media Chairperson and Alumni Chairperson since January 2014, to date. Such longevity only comes with top performance. Clearly, this demonstrates my consistency in performance as a leader. I have also not forgotten my academics behind; I have a strong GPA of 3.617. I humbly request that you consider my hard-work, desire for community service participation and leadership abilities as part of the unique abilities that I will be bringing to your institution if offered this scholarship. I have the desire, reasons and need for this scholarship, all I am requesting for is a chance to demonstrate my abilities. Kindly, give me this chance.
Impact of the Scholarship my Career Aspirations
Back in Jan 2015, I was privileged to secure an internship at CASA de Maryland, Incorporation, in Baltimore. I played the role of a tax preparer. All the people I worked under, were fully qualified CPAs. In September, I also served in another internship position at Angel Publishing, LLC. This year, I also served as an accounting intern at Debra Holzman’s company. One thing that is consistent in all these engagements is the fact that I could only serve in internship positions. In future, if I would love to serve as fully-fledged accountant or tax expert, I will have to complete my CPA course. I really need this scholarship to pass my CPA exams so as to boost my chances of becoming one of the best accountants in the corporate world.
