What is your field of study or profession?  

The field of study is human resources. The human resource professionals are responsible for recruiting and selection of employees as well as designing an appropriate program to enhance their performance. 

What issues of diversity would you highlight to the new employee? 

The new employees should be made aware of the various issues that can arise due to the diverse workforce. One issue is the cultural differences among the employees. It is important for employees to know that people from a diverse workforce have different beliefs, norms, values, and tradition (Greene & Kirton, 2015). Such differences can have the potential to lead to conflict among employees in an organization. The diversity in an organization can also lead to discrimination based on race, gender, color, religion, and ethnicity ( Wormley, 2018) . Such practices can also result in inequality and unfair treatment of some employees.

What would you suggest to this employee for navigating and overcoming those issues?  

There are many suggestions and recommendations to the employee that can enable it to overcome such issues of diversity. One of the suggestions is for the employee to accept the diverse workforce and accepts and respects the cultural background of all the employees. Furthermore, it is necessary that the new employee recognition and adopts the organizational culture. In essence, all the employees are required to follow a given organizational culture to ensure that it accommodates all the unique culture of employees. Another suggestion is for the new employee to share ideas with employees from different cultural groups. The sharing of ideas across people from diverse cultural groups can facilitate learning thus improves the cultural competency of an employee ( The Economist, 2016 ). 

What are some training strategies you would use?  

The training used can determine the effectiveness of the training and development of a new employee. The training strategies that are appropriate for a new employee include on the job training and mentoring. The on-the-job training will enable the employee to adopt the new working environment and thus embrace the organizational culture ( Wormley, 2018) ) . In addition, it can enable the new employee to familiarize with a diverse workforce. Mentoring as an approach to training is useful as it will ensure that the employee develops requires traits and behavior in the company. 

How can diversity positively impact your profession and workplace? 

Diversity can have a positive impact on the profession of employees and the workplace. With regards to the profession of an individual, diversity encourages learning from people with different backgrounds. Such learning can help an employee get new knowledge and skills that can help improve its performance. It can also encourage innovation and invention of new ideas and production techniques that can help improve the performance and competitiveness of a firm ( Guillaume et al., 2017) .
