Grant writing refers to the process of writing an application for financial grants by an establishment such as a trust or a government department. It is an art form that helps an organization in many areas and it might not be smooth, but there is a celebratory moment on receiving the funding ( Baskfield, 2017). Grant writing is of great importance in the healthcare industry because, as most medical facilities aim to evolve, they seek help to elevate their projects. Grant applications lead to funding that boosts the technological and medical upgrade, research program, and acquisition of new medical equipment.

The grant writing process enables healthcare organizations to involve other organizations in their non-profit causes. It allows the organization to project its views and vision, and sell its strategy to make this dream a reality. Grant writing enables the organization to express its mission and to develop a proposal for the secondary organization to get involved.

The grant writing process helps the healthcare organization develop patient and perseverance as some of these grants take a long time to write and develop. There is no direct guarantee for approval. Through the process, the organization has a prospect of achieving their long term goals because grant writing will polish the plans, presenting them as measurable, realistic, and actionable outcomes.

The grant writing process enables the healthcare organization staff to develop diverse skills because to get a successful grant, an organization must meet the high standards of planning and budgeting. In the process of improving this, the staff ends up improving themselves career-wise. Most importantly, grant writing leads to the organization's potential funding, helping them facilitate urgent, positive, and long-lasting healthcare changes across the community. There are many examples of successful grants in healthcare. Grants are a major tool for the government to support innovation (Price & Nicholson, 2019). The Kennett Area Senior Center is one example. It helps to provide services to the community's disadvantaged population by providing needed services to local senior citizens.
