Journal entries are significant in taking into account the important events of the day. They help people with the provocation of reflecting into their lives and encourage them to take charge of their feelings. Journal entries help people make connections between what is important to them, their lives, and the world. The best journal entries are supposed to be put down as and when they occur, because if the author is to take the details hours later, then they may forget some of the details (Warnes, 2020). This was one of the challenges I had when making journal entries at GTO Property Investments LLC. I was so embedded in the tasks at hand that I forgot to take short notes to account, probably for how I spent each hour. Therefore, when it came to the end of the shift, I struggled to account for the day and spent more time than needed writing the journal entries. I have come to understand that there are personal journal entries and official work-related journals. I had a challenge in differentiating the two, whereas I might have mixed my personal experiences with work-related experiences until when my supervisor Tom Ford pointed out the differences. An official journal entry encompasses official language and tone and while the entries must be work-related. Since this was also an exercise I was not accustomed to, I had challenges formatting my journal entries as their many formats in which journal entries can be made. The formats depend on the purpose of the entries ranging from accounting for my time at the organization, documenting my experience, recording a statement of account towards the tasks I have achieved in the organization so that management can understand the experience I have garnered. The journal entry can also be used to measure the amount of work done against a figure to be paid.
