My main career interest lies in the field of accounting. I have pursued a bachelor of science in accounting degree. Back in Jan 2015, I was privileged to secure an internship at CASA de Maryland, Incorporation, in Baltimore. I played the role of a tax preparer. In September, 2015, I also served in another accounts internship position at Angel Publishing, LLC. Early this year, I also served as an accounting intern at Debra Holzman’s company. During my second and third internships, I realized that I enjoyed practicing the practical part of accounting, just like I have always enjoyed the theoretical bit- in class. It is due to that incredible fulfilment, derived from working in an accounting environment, that I decided to specialize in the field of accounting. I have already enrolled for a masters’ degree in accounting and advisory services at the Towson University. I am looking to secure an internship position in a multinational company with massive outreach and years of experience to further expand my accounting/finance knowledge. The World Bank provides the perfect opportunity for me to experience career growth.
I am an articulate communicator, privileged with the ability to fluently converse in both Burmese and English. I also possess a conversational ability in the Chinese language. The World Bank being a global organization, I expect to interact with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. My ability to communicate in three different languages stands me in good stead to succeed; at least on a social front. I am also technically skilled as far as the use of Microsoft Office Suite is concerned; I am skilled in the use of MS PowerPoint, MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook. My internship work experiences have also conferred upon me the knowledge of using software such as Manage Your Own Business (MYOB) and QuickBooks. While there is no guarantee that this knowledge will be applicable in the internship role I am applying for at your organization, it will serve as a stepping stone for me to quickly learn the software in place. I am an open mind, and more than ready to learn the ways of working at World Bank.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
I have, in the past, attended a summer leadership program as part of my professional development commitments. The most important thing I learned from the leadership program is that leadership is about service; service to others above oneself. I come from a financially disadvantaged background. This has in itself presented me with a challenge; the challenge of carving out a decent career life and lifting my parents and siblings from poverty. Since leadership comes with the need to provide service. In so doing, I would have served them in the capacity of a leader. Being that a part of the World Bank’s mission statement is to end extreme poverty within a generation and boost shared prosperity, I believe that serving in this internship position would serve as an impetus for me to work even harder knowing that my personal goals are directly related to the greater organizational mission.
I bring to the table a good understanding of the accounting field, having served in internship positions at two different accounting firms. The technical knowledge I have in various software and MS Office Suite form an essential part of my skills-set. Above all, I have an incredible yearning to gain more working experience in the accounting field. I have the desire, the need and the willingness to succeed; all I need is an opportunity to achieve the same. I look forward to hearing from, as soon as reasonably possible.
