The concept of Hub and Spoke is continuing with its development across several transportation modes (Truck, Air, Rail, and Maritime). This describes the essential advantages of the various transportation modes. 

The Hub and spoke concept is seen as having that large distribution or warehouse center (The Hub) which allows the companies to send their products to, then their disseminated and grouped out to the small distributors who will take them to specific destination or location. The routes of the freight are simplified by the Hub and Spoke model which significantly helps in the in the transportation operations.
