The system works hand in hand with the other groups to upsurge food safety and guarantee the cost-effective, natural and collective sustainability of the society. Despite the fact that local food is advantages because it builds the community, is an investment and protects the environment and wildlife it also has drawbacks like being costly and difficult to get.

Local Food is an Investment in the Future

Through buying local foods from the farmers in the present world, one is unknowingly contributing to the fact that there will be farmlands and gardens in the society tomorrow. More so, it promotes and provides food safety particularly in light of unreliable sources of energy prospect and the current dependence on remains energies to harvest, pack, allocate and supply food (Robinson& Farmer, 2017) . Local food is an investment in the future which helps the defendants earn a living day after day, season after season and year after year. As a result, farmers are well equipped, and they do not have to worry about what will happen in the future. Therefore, local food is the way to go for people because it is a future investment to the future.

Environmental Friendly and Benefits Wildlife

Modern farms that produce local foods are well equipped and managed to provide ecological unit services. Typically, they preserve the fertile soils, repossess carbon from the thermosphere and safeguard natural water sources (Sumner, 2016) . The farm environment is pieced together with fields, pastures, woodlands, fish ponds and structures, which are responsible for habitation for flora and fauna in the communities. More to that, supporting local farmers through buying their local foods is a motivator that drives them to continue carrying out farming and agriculture. When farmers grow crops on natural fields, they preserve the environment and support nature which helps the economy to stay green. Thus, people should adapt to eating local food because they are more important to the economy.

Local Food is not good for the Economy

Costly

Imminently, the biggest problem associated with local food is that it is financially unfriendly. Most of the local farmers in provinces have low standards of living, and their local farms are family oriented (Tamsin, 2012). Family oriented is basically where all family members are concerned and responsible for the agricultural holdings. For example, if the father is the owner of the farmer it is evident that all his children will grow up looking after the farm and are partially responsible for activities at the farm. In the long run, the farmers tend to sell their produce at high prices just because they want to earn more profits to support the whole family. Thus, local food is not good for the economy for the reason that it is expensive to buy.

Hard to Get

Apparently, buying local food is not a matter of just going to the retail store and getting it. Getting local food is associated with difficulties, for example, one has to move to the agricultural farmas to get the healthy and safe local food (Sumner, 2016). Moreso, all agricultural products are found in different markets for example meat, which means that for one to get access to the fresh and healthy local foods he has to go to the farm for himself and buy what he needs. Some local foods are seasonal in that one cannot get a specified type of food at his convenience for the reason that he has to wait for the products season and enjoy it. Hence, local food is not good for the economy because it is associated with difficulties in accessing them.

Conclusion

To sum up, according to the stated points in the essay local food is not bad for the economy for the reason that it builds the community, benefits the environment and wildlife and it is an investment in the future. When people live a life of eating local food, they will directly benefit the economy evidenced by its associated advantages. However, local food is said to be bad for the economy because it is costly and getting it is difficult. Everything in the is two sided and so is local food. Home-town food is right to a large extent though also wrong to a small degree. But that does not necessarily mean that people should start eating or even stop eating local food leaving out their tastes and preferences.
