The key theme of law enforcement administration is to go after those individuals who commit crime.
However, I believe that law enforcers play other critical roles. For instance, the administration enforces both civil and criminal laws. In addition, law enforcement administrations have the responsibility to pass warnings and arrest individuals who break the law. Law enforcers should also be the first to respond to emergencies through the 911 calls and during patrols. Further, I believe that law-enforcing administration should be in the front line to get rid common crimes lie domestic abuse. In this case, according to me, law enforcement administration should ensure public safety by offering public education on laws that relate to public safety. Despite the vital role the enforcement administration play in the society today, they are faced with major challenges. For instance, as a law enforcement officer, I can face criminal prosecution in cases where my action leads to death or injury; this will negatively destroy the public image and trust on the administration (Schneider, 2016).

Another challenge that faces police executives is the issue of social media where police cases are tried in the court of public opinion. For instance, if I am a police executive, I can be caught on video and the video can go viral, this leads to prejudice which can critically affect my career and my abilities to execute my responsibilities. Finally, the issue of civil unrest can affect the relationship between the law enforcers and the public as the public will view the police as public enemies, which will hinder access to vital information from the public, in the case of a crime investigation.
