The three things or concepts about leadership that are essential include empathy, empowerment, and collaboration. These concepts are valuable in my practice as a leader in nursing. For instance, empathy demands to understand and share the feelings of others. The leader with empathy has an open mind, heart, and listens to others. It's not true that all great ideas come from the leaders only. Sometimes positive change ideas come from the followers. In my nursing practice, I will always demonstrate empathy to understand those I lead and inspire them to powerful loyalty and achievement ( Unnikrishnan, 2016) . Compassion will help me build trusting connections with colleagues and clients, strengthen communications, and understand others' experiences with ease.
The other concept, empowerment, involves preparing the people under my leadership to become leaders. Empowerment is a crucial concept in leadership that has shown to lead to both short-term and long-term success in organizations such as efficient successions (Marquis & Huston, 2015). In nursing, I will apply structured empowerment to help those I lead in demonstrating autonomy and independent decision-making skills. For example, I will include nursing representatives in the processes, such as the formulation of policies. I will ask the other nurses to give their opinions on the issues and reasons for them. As we deliberate on the problems or decisions, they will develop their decision-making skills and prepare to lead in their work areas.

Collaboration involves working together with different people and entities in achieving particular goals. In nursing, I will apply the concept of collaboration by working with both external and internal partners in working towards common goals (Azad et al., 2017). I will encourage and initiate collaboration between nurses and colleagues, as well as nurses at patients. For example, I will pair nurses to deliver patient care. As they work together and share responsibility in doing the tasks. The collaboration will help improve satisfaction as they will feel supported, improving staff communication.
