Leadership is about influencing people and working through them to achieve the desired outcome ( Smith et al., 2019). A leader's success depends on the degree of flexibility a leader has and the extent of achievement the leader has made. The result of the leadership effort should have an impact on people. The leadership efforts should be measurable to define the path the leader is taking and whether it comes with benefits. As the world is facing the challenge of the novel Coronavirus, the leaders' ability to give people direction and protect them from infection is facing extensive tests. One of the leaders who has exhibited excellent leadership skills is Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, Cuomo has been standing with the New York citizens briefing them on the rate of infections, the death rate, and preventive measures to reduce the COVID-19 outbreak( Cbs, 2020). Amid the coronavirus infection, Cuomo's mission is to reduce the rate of infection, decrease deaths and increase the safety of the New York Citizens.
Cuomo's logical idea
Logical ideas or model is the process that entails the flow of activities from the input to the impact the input has on the specific process. The logical model, in this case, represents the interconnection between the resource, the activities, and the outcome. Cuomo's leadership strategy and model during the pandemic exhibit not only skills but well-crafted logical ideas. Cuomo manages resources diligently ( Cbs, 2020). Cuomo has stayed flexible in his endeavor to fight the COVID-19. Other than that part of his logic model are activities such as sensitizations. He persistently sensitizes the public to stay alert and put on the measures that reduce the spread of the infection. Therefore, his strategies and tactics he uses could be an indication of his performance as a leader and the success of his leadership abilities in New York.

Since New York reported the first COVID-19 case, Cuomo has been part of the press. Andrew takes every minute to brief people on the best way they should defend themselves against the virus. Cuomo also has numerous programs to distribute food to people who are most vulnerable during this pandemic. Other than that, Cuomo came up with the New York on Pause strategy to alert people to stay home and also take cautious of the disease. The directive demand that people should avoid going out and also close different nonessential business in the city. The aim is to reduce the spread of the disease in New York ( Cui, Heal &Kunreuther, 2020). The success of the measures in reducing the rate of spread of Coronavirus in New York could be an important indication of his leadership success. The Matilda law, which is also part of Cuomo's flexible strategy to reduce the Coronavirus, is an indication of his success ( Cabs, (2020). The Matilda law also urges people to stay indoor to stop the spread of the novel Coronavirus.
Performance Indicators
Cuomo has achieved so much success with his logical model since the first case of COVID-19 was announced in New York. First, the reduction in the rate of death in New York is an indication of better performance. Death rate falls in New York to 422 in the day, which was the lowest since the 1st of April. It follows the reduction in the infection rate in New York by 2%. These are performance indicators of the best strategies the Cuomo's administration is putting in place to control COVID-19. It indicators that the policies, his logical model, and his ideas are working well to reduce the rate of infection in the City.
In conclusion, the success of Cuomo leadership is measurable with the number of policies he has signed so far to protect his people. Cuomo's performance success is also measurable by the number of times he has appeared on the press briefing to sensitize people about the Covid-19. Therefore, Cuomo relentlessness is an indicator of a flexible and successful leader during the Covid-19 pandemic.
