A leader is made by up certain skills and knowledge of how to handle operations in a business. The main requirement is emotional intelligence to determine how to manage business operations without letting personal beliefs, opinions, and emotions get in the way (Goleman, 2018). A leader has to be self-aware by understanding personal emotional, needs, drives, weaknesses, and strengths. A self-aware leader capitalizes their strong points to maximize their operations and work to improve their shortcomings to avoid failing. Self-regulation is the other factor of gaining emotional intelligence. Since biological impulses drive emotions, it is necessary to learn how to regulate them despite frustrations the leader's faces. As a person gets older and gains experience, they acquire more emotional. It explains why leaders become better with age as they learn to control and regulate their emotions, thus making a decision from practical points. A leader is also made through understanding what motivates them and working on it to ensure that it helps develop the required skills and values for leadership. Leadership skills can be taught. Leadership is a personal journey, which means the leader has to be willing to learn and practice the skills so that they can be perfected. There are lots of leadership programs intended to train the aspiring leaders on how they should act and ways they should solve handle different situations. These programs are offered from school levels where students are prepared to be future leaders. In a company, leaders take the role of preparing the employees to be able to handle different situations on their own, indicating that leadership can be taught. When a person is offered a promotion, it is due to the potential they show for the position (Ryan, 2016). However, they have to learn how to handle those below. A leader has to believe in themselves and accept their role and be willing to learn any skills possible to ensure success. When a leader is willing to learn, it shows that they are accommodating and willing to improve. Leadership describes the process of managing, controlling, and organizing operations in an organization. Leaders are in charge of assisting other people and themselves to do the right thing. They are able to establish the direction, vision, and goals to be followed in a company (MindTools. (n.d.). A leader has to map out how operations will be carried out to make it possible for the team to win and keep the employees inspired. Management skills are required for guiding the workers and company to the right destination through a smooth and efficient manner. The management skills that leaders require are planning, communication skills, decision-making, problem-solving, delegation, and motivation. The leader has various duties starting with the creation of an inspiring vision for the future. Leadership occurs in different styles; for example, transformational leadership meant to improve business operations. Leadership involves the entire organization, and employees have to be involved. Coaching and team building, for instance, are essential to prepare the workers to operate following the established vision. Leadership can be taught and learned, and it improves with time and experience.
