Project management skills are essential in ensuring success in all the organizational endeavors. Often, companies face challenges that may trigger the need for change to ensure that the goals and objectives of the firm are fully attained. This paper discusses the two changes that UPI should implement for successful project management, strategies for earning employee trust, as well as the most significant resource to ensure management control in UPI.
Organizational Changes
The first change that UPI needs to implement is ensuring the alignment of all the managed projects with the corporate strategic mission and vision. According to Greg Wood, a member of the PMI Global Executive Council, it is not just enough for projects to be completed within the stipulated time and budget. For ultimate success, projects need to be congruent with the strategy. Otherwise, it is considered wasted capital ( Villanova University , 2019). The second change should be in line with developing a Project Portfolio management system (PPMS) to enable the company to evaluate and prioritizing projects ( El Hannach et al., 2019) . The company is currently faced with many inconclusive projects, which, in return, destroys the entity. An effective PPMs is essential in ensuring routine analysis and qualifying the project's value, prioritize the endeavor, as well as identifying the projects that the firm needs to be initiated, re-prioritized, or even be terminated.

Gaining Employee Trust
The management can earn employees' trust by developing a connection between themselves and the workforce. This includes engaging staff in essential processes like decision making. Employee engagement enhances transparency in the organization, thus building trust. Also, leaders need to be encouraging rather than commanding. Promoting an open-ended communication where employees are allowed to consult and contact their management team whenever they are in need is also the right way of developing trust. Generally, gaining trust entails making workers feel a part of the organization through adequate involvement ( Helliwell & Huang, 2011) . Collaboration between the leadership and the workforce help in learning about the management and the culture of the firm.
The use of employee information to implement personal agenda is unethical. Personal plans are considered selfish as they are aimed at satisfying a particular need. In this case, employees who are a part of the global company would not benefit from the implementation of the plan. Personal plans are often against the organizational strategies, thus the capability of hurting the company.
Quality Resource for UPI Management
In any given organization, effective communication is the key to excellent management. Often, companies tend to utilize the top-bottom approach of communication, which in some cases, is not sufficient. This form of communication allows the top management to give instructions and commands to the employees, while the latter does not have a say in the company (Robbins & Judge, 2011). Allowing the bottom-up approach promotes broad collaboration in the company, as well as enhance employee input. For the company to gain control of the project portfolio.
Open and effective communication ensures that the management and leaders at the project level can easily communicate on the level of project implementation. Zhang & Wang (2019) assert that t he use of both bottom-up and tom-bottom communication approaches promote a sufficient stream of information to and from the project managers and the company's executive management. It encourages teamwork spirit in the company. Additionally, communication can enhance a better understanding of the company's vision and values that are necessary for success.
Conclusion
Effective project management skills ensure success in the implementation of the organization’s activities. For any firm to be successful, it needs to be flexible and easy to adjust by accepting changes when necessary. Additionally, developing employee trust is crucial in promoting teamwork and productivity among workers.
Responses
Steven Kern asserts that the most critical resource that UPI should invest in are the employees. For Samantha, Petit, she says that funding is the best way for UPI management to get control of the corporate project portfolio of the firm. The two can work together with communication to ensure effective control in the enterprise. First, communication is critical in ensuring excellent workforce management. Communication helps to promote the transfer and share information between the administration and the staff.
On the other hand, findings help to facilitate the operations of the company. Therefore, communication ensures sufficient communication between project managers and executives on the effective use of financing. Connections promote accountability and ensuring that the funds are used for their essential purpose.
