Over the years, the field of transportation and logistics has experienced numerous challenges and issues that have affected the operation of this field; these logistic management challenges arise almost daily. This coursework aims to identify in detail the challenges and issues affecting the transportation and logistics field, the work will go ahead to expound on how the challenges emerged and possible solutions to the issues.
Various challenges have emerged over the last two years. One of the issues being government and environmental regulations, there are several compliance regulations imposed by the federal, state and local authorities in the country which carriers must comply (Witkowski, 2014). Nevertheless, there are environmental regulations such as emission reduction. The imposition of these regulations brings about an increase in the operation and even losses because benefits could be exceeded by the compliance cost, this particular challenge emerged because of climatic changes in recent years whereby the transportation field was seen as the main contributor to the change because of the gases emitted. Managers ensuring they are compliant with all regulations to avoid penalties and other fines can solve this issue.

Another emerging issue in the transport and logistics field is technology strategy and implementation. In the few years past, there has been a tremendous technological change; this has left the transportation logistics stakeholders with questions of who is to pay for the implementations and improvements of the changes (Van, 2017). It has become so difficult to manage these concerns because many business processes in the sector today require expertise people and Information Technology to reduce expenses and effectively manage the supply chain. This issue can be solved by logistics managers’ embracing the new technology.
