Criminal acts have grown to greater heights due to the contributions of the organized US Mafia groups, and motorcycle gangs among many other kinds of ‘transnational organized crime groups.’ According to the American history published by the A+E Networks (2009), the US Mafia were involved in trafficking alcohol but had to indulge in different illegal activities after the legalization of alcohol. On the other hand, the motorcycle gangs were formed after tough and rebellious youth were attracted to the sporting motor bicycle groups that operated after the World War II. They both run in an organized hierarchal set of individuals and affect the production and distribution through the insertion of illegal substances like drugs, firearms, and human in the accepted products. These make it hard for the authorities to suspect illegal operations undergoing through normal distributions.
In reference to the California Department of Justice, Office of the Attorney General – Kamal Harris et al (2014), the criminal organizations and gangs have formulated ways at which the law enforcers find it difficult to arrest and convict the individuals involved. One of the most tactical methods they use that is problematic is the collaboration of different gangs with prison gangs. The groups make use of US citizens who are members, to distribute the drugs through crossing the borders because of lack or minimal intense scrutiny from law enforcers. Moreover, this tactic ensures that they continue their operations without setting foot in America making it difficult for the US government to get a hold of the individuals involved.

To stop drug trafficking, law enforcers should target higher levels of the criminal organizations because for the operations of trafficking to succeed; people at lower levels must get orders from above. Furthermore, the higher levels decide who to work with at the lower level hence in case people at, the lower levels are caught business will still run. Contrary, in case individuals on the higher levels are detected; the lower levels would be disorganized (Sorte, 2007) .
Many issues surround the drug law enforcement, and this includes the contradiction between the prohibitions of the intoxicating substance at the same time allowance of the use of other intoxicating substances for medical purposes. This issue can be resolved through ensuring that the substances in question do not in any way harm the human body and finding alternative substances that could be used as medication.
Conclusion
Trafficking of drugs, firearms, and people have become familiar considering that organized groups have made their operations stronger and hard for law enforcers to get a hold of them. New tactics are innovated to improve their deals. Efforts put in place to curb drug trafficking should include tracking high-level operators as compared to the lower level dealers. As for the issues surrounding the law enforcement on drugs, the stakeholders should find ways to ensure that the contradictions do not exist.
