Undergraduate students enrolled in research methods and statistics took part in an online survey which took approximately 15 minutes to complete. The survey despite being a class assignment was a voluntary one and no responses could be tracked to a particular student as it was anonymous. 124 students took part in the survey with 105 females being the majority which corresponded to 84.7% and only 18 males taking part in the survey which corresponded to 14.5%. Participant ages ranged from 2 to 52 years, with a mean of 22.13 years ( SD = 10.719). Taking a look at the participant’s ethnicity, 60.5% were White, Caucasian, European , 12.1% were Hispanic or Latino , 8.9% were Black or African American , 6.5% were Asian or Asian American , 2.4% were American Indian, 8.1% were of Mixed race and 1.6% were from other non-specified races.
Materials
Participants were required to answer a total of 38 close-ended questions in the online survey. The main aim of the survey was to analyze the association between relationship and age. The survey, therefore, asked respondents to give their age and relationship status. Relationship status was straightforward with options such as "single", "engaged", "dating" etc. among the choices.
Delegate your assignment to our experts and they will do the rest.
Analysis
In order to analyze the association between Relationship, Age, gender and ethnicity, a multiple linear regression analysis carried out on the data.
Results
A multiple linear regression analysis was run to check whether age ( M = 22.13, SD = 10.719) , gender and ethnicity predicted relationship.

From the linear regression analysis performed, the variables were found to have a weak correlation (0.356) which is denoted by the R value in the Model summary table. This implies that the variables under scrutiny have a weak correlation and therefore whenever one variable increases or decreases, there is a low probability that there will be a relationship with the other variable under investigation.
To determine how best the regression equation line fits the data, the Analysis of Variance table is analyzed. There is statistical significance as the model fittingly forecasts the independent variables well since the Sig column has a very low value of .002. A low value means that the value obtained is less than the standard α level of significance .05 which shows statistical significance.
