The primary news networks interject themselves via the media, into policy making regarding the terrorist's attacks and I do not think this should be allowed. The prominence of social media, as well as the cyber realm, has made it possible for the small groups as well as individuals to bring damage on a scale that had been restricted to nation states (Tai, 1981). I do believe that the administration officials are at times rushed into judgment before they are even ready or have enough evidence to do so, this is because of the public pressure which mostly builds up in the social media through the primary news networks. These networks make their own research concerning certain matters of terrorism and post via social media their opinions thus shaping the opinions of the many citizens in social media, this, in the end, forces the administration officials to make a rushed judgment.

The second attack on the two U.S destroyers Maddox and Tuner which is also called the Gulf of Tonkin Incident did not actually happen on august 4 1964 (Goulden, 2009). Speculations about the government leading the public to believe that this incident happened will never cease however the key reason is the mistranslations and mistakes of intelligence and the faculty in decision making was taken up by the analysts very fast and they jumped to their own conclusions and led the whole nation into believing so (Farrell and Lipsey, 2015. The government allowed the public to believe this incident happened since on their side this incident was either a deliberate or a fabricated American provocation.
