According to the documentary, the term “sisses” is used to portray boys with some feminine characteristics. According to my own experience, whenever boys are referred to as “sisses” by their friends, they tend to reiterate and fight to show that they are strong. Parents do not prefer their boys being referred to as “sisses” since it depicts boys as weak compared to girls.

One of the ways we can support boys and men to be strong and express emotions is by allowing them to make decisions by themselves. Additionally, when boys engage in a fight amongst themselves; the parents should not intervene at all times since it does not allow the child to grow his strong character. Boys and men can be supported by given a listening year when they are addressing an issue. Additionally, in case a boy is raised by a single mom, they require the guidance of a male or a father figure and, hence, an uncle or a mum’s friend could be of assistance.

The piece of the film that I resonate with most is the one that addresses the issue of evil character in boys. Most of the boys develop the violent behavior since their early development is characterized by destructive phrases such as being a man. Additionally, there is a notion in the society that drives men to engage in other vices such as binge drinking, substance abuse, and in some instances suicidal attempts.

The documentary fails to address what the character of a man should entail and some of the measures that the community should adopt to ensure that boys do not engage in unacceptable behaviors.
