The main theme brought out in the clip on the broken window fallacy rests on the economic balance within the economy of a society. The idea in the clip brings out the notion that destruction does not benefit the economy at all. It has been used to discredit the proposal that engaging in war would help in stimulating the economy. Just in a similar manner to the broken window, war leads to the funneling of capital and resources out of the manufacturing industries. This gesture then leads to the escalation of the costs incurred in the entire process of war. Within the same school of thought, the rebuilding that takes place after the war would engage the processes of maintenance and other parameters that need more resources. Therefore, countries would be in a better economic situation if they never engaged in war at all.

The same fallacy demonstrates the faults made in concluding remarks of the onlookers who only take into consideration the person owning the window and the glazier who would replace the same window. They seem to forget about other third parties in the economic chain such as the tailor. In this sense, fallacy comes out based on the process of decision making where most people only look at the individuals directly affected by the event. This reasoning is short term as they should take into account all the parties involved in both the long and the short term effects. There is the need to look at both the direct and the indirect parties affected by the incident. On a global scale, the acts of terrorism can never be levied as helping in the economic boost, but rather only devastates the economy further as it affects every person on the surface of the earth.
