One of the key features of an effective leader is a good role model. A proper role model inspires action. They paint a picture that inspires his team to follow a particular path that will lead to success. They can remove all the challenges that will allow their employees to attain their natural initiative and creative so that they can attain their maximum potential. Good role models are optimistic. They attempt to lift their teams to the clouds instead of lowering their self-esteem (Hollander, 2008). They focus on the positive attributes of their teams and assist them in overcoming personal doubts. Furthermore, they facilitate their teams by creating an environment that enhances their progress, honesty, and commitment.

A good role model is decisive. One of the fundamental duties of a leader is to make decisions. For a leader to be effective, they should be bold in making tough calls and brave when making such decisions. They should collect all the necessary information and make the informed decision without hesitation. After the decision has been made, they should stick to it unless a very compelling fact to change their opinion. A good role model should communicate effectively with the team (Yukl, 2012). Due to the needs of the modern management models, every employee should receive updated and complete information from the management. So that the leader can achieve effective communication, there should be efficient channels for a two-way communication system by receiving the opinions of both the senior and junior staff.

The second most important trait of an effective leader is trust and integrity. It refers to the attribute of being consistent in outcomes, action, values, expectations, methods, principles and measures. It describes the commitment of a leader performs the right deeds for the right reasons regardless of the outcome. Leaders who have integrity are often incorruptible and do not break the trust of their confidants. Every person possesses a conscience and the ability to discern wrong and right deeds (Hollander, 2008). Selecting the right deed regardless of the outcome is the key attribute of integrity. A good leader should establish a series of ethical policies that will be integrated into all the business activities, inform the employees, and ensure that deviating from integrity principles will not be tolerated. Furthermore, the leaders should be at the forefront of following the integrity principles.

For a leader to gain the trust of his partners, colleagues, and employees, they should practice unyielding integrity. The leader should be dedicated to showing the relationship between their actions and words, keeping their promises, and adhering to the core principles. A leader should first be trustworthy before impacting the trait into his team. The leader should be real and authentic so that they can be a valuable example and member of the team (Yukl, 2012). If a leader is trustworthy, various employees will open up and explain all the issues facing the organization. Deviating from integrity tarnishes the image of a leader. Moreover, if a leader has integrity, he will inspire everyone to follow his lead.
