In my opinion, a functional democracy always offers its citizens and opportunity with a right to legal and fair system of justice where every person can go to the judiciary for free and fair justice and solutions for various conflicts. So, looking at the existing US judicial system, there is a sufficient number of cases in the legal proceedings. Indeed, it is a good indication that the ordinary citizens believe in the country’s justice system and they approach the courts to resolve their various disputes. This shows the trust the people have with the judiciary and the trust they have on the legal system.

Nonetheless, the courts are somehow overburdened as they full of large number of cases and in many of those cases; it is not possible to have timely hearing. However, people filing for court cases and lawyers are not to blame for this. The lawyers are unable to control the rate of crime in the US. Besides, their main work is presenting the cases in courts and performing trials and working for people come to courts to seek justice ( Beatty, Samuelson & Sánchez, 2019) . Besides, people who go to court are not to blame since they are the plaintiffs. They were wronged by other people, and they only go to courts to seek justice. The reasons why there are many cases is because of the country’s structure of law and order and partly because the government or police are not working well, to reduce the crime rates and disorderliness in the country. Thus, lawyers and people who come in the court do not have anything to do with too many cases.

The country must develop its legal infrastructure through the appointment of more judges and facilitate the legal services across the country. The government must take measures to enhance the legal system to reduce the number of cases ( Beatty, Samuelson & Sánchez, 2019) . In fact, the government should try to make people approach different agencies apart from the courts for resolving their issues and also get help of mediation to resolve their conflicts.
