The United States of America was held at increasing housing affordability crisis as reported by The New York Times last year. Many low-income American citizens are spending most of their income for shelter as rent continuously increases and the demand for affordable rental apartments was a little bit much higher than their constructions Glen Thrush (2018).
This housing affordability crisis called for the intervention of Trumps Administration through the secretary of housing and Urban development to plan to triple rent for about one million most impoverished tenants who were guaranteed a house by federal housing Aid in order to cover the rent on nearly four million tenants receiving Federal Voucher and Public Housing program nationwide. Trump's administration main goal was to do away with longtime tenants out of the system to make way for the new tenants who were able to manage to pay for the new rent. Both tenants that are the ones receiving federal vouchers and those receiving federal housing Aid requested the government for help, but the federal housing secretary and urban development opinion on the shortage of affordable housing was that it was a local problem (Glen Thrush, 2018). They requested the government for help, but local official seemed relaxed knowing that they will receive little or no help at all from Trump's Administration. Nevada which was rated zero in housing crisis ten years ago is now seen as the most affected place by housing affordability crisis with low-income tenants evacuated from apartments that were once affordable. They were squeezed out by working class fleeing from California over the rental crisis
