Introduction 

In the olden days, point to point networks described the transportation system. Point to point system lacked order, and the organization was poor. For instance, maritime, truck, air and rail companies were experiencing loses due to the money lost. As the evolution of development in technology emerged, the transportation industry discovered the growth of cost approaches effect of freight in shipping. The hub and spoke concept was brought up aiming at generating more successful networks. The spoke hub system is a network of interconnections planned like a wire-spoked wire-spoked wheel by which all traffic passes down spokes and connected to the hub located at the center ( Wensveen, 2018) . The hub and spoke network is often used in the industry especially in transport. This written paper surveys various advantages of the hub and spoke concept in different modes in the transport industry. 

Lately, shipping companies have employed the hub and spoke concept to minimize costs to accelerate conveyance. Through the use of hub and spoke concept, carriers collect products from the native land or the spokes and deliver them back to the central processing unit or the hub. The hub and spoke concept aids in facilitating goods shipped tracking. When goods are moved straight from the origin, numerous ways are linking them to an extensive network of other municipalities. Keeping track of a shipment in a compound system is not easy.

Also, in as much as there would be a demand to be mass classification among cities, firms would be forced to use funds on crewing and well supplying every facility (Janic,2017). Using the hub and spoke concept, companies will only have to be concerned about one breeding ground of shipping undertaking. 

Furthermore, trucking companies us the hub and spoke concept to utilize many of committed drivers and vehicles over a wide range. The devoted assets can be used in additional ways until customer’s appeal to their services. 

In conclusion, the hub and spoke concept made thing easy for the flying route web remarkably. The hub and spoke concept had been used on a large scale to aid in saving airline funds by enhancing stripped planes. If at all some companies have not adopted the hub and spoke concept, those companies should revise their present business practices
