The purpose of my study was to examine the prevalence of tuberculosis in Cambodia and its risk factors. The incidence of TB has been decreasing globally, and the condition has already claimed many lives in Cambodia. Understanding the disease among the public is regarded as one of the ways of curbing its spread. However, HIV status has been a contributing factor in the spread of the disease. Therefore, the study investigated the prevalence of tuberculosis among individuals with knowledge about TB and their HIV status in Cambodia.
The dependent variable was tuberculosis, which is a binary measure on a (positive/negative) feedback. It indicated the results of the participants diagnosed with tuberculosis. The independent variable or the risk factors was the HIV status (positive or negative), individual understanding of the disease based on signs and symptoms, prevention measures, and cure that is a categorical variable measure on (Yes/ No). The other variables are gender (Male or female) and age of the participants. The study used the chi-sure test to examine the significance of the association between the disease and its risk factors. It also employed the logistic regression model to establish the significant risk factors. This is a model basically used when the dependent variable is binary. The odds ratio was used to model the association between each of the risk factors and tuberculosis.

The study is of great importance to public health in multiple ways, such as enabling the researchers to come up with various measures of preventing the spread of tuberculosis among the people. For example, washing hands regularly, covering their mouths when sneezing or coughing, and maintaining high levels of hygiene. It will also create a basis for future research on tuberculosis.
