Response to Juliet Buabeng

Hello Juliet.

It is disturbing to imagine the scale of environmental incompetence Walmart was involved in as well as how foolish its administrators thought the American public was. Instead of being truly green, I capitalized on the desire and the interest of the people in environmentally sensitive programs, making millions from such campaigns and fake presentations. The concept of "Greenwashing" is now a common practice, where companies pretend to be environmentally sensitive even when they are not. This was the case with Volkswagen, which was eventually busted and made to pay the price, making it almost become unprofitable. As you have illustrated, it is not difficult for these Multi-billion companies to become champions of environmental sustainability, just that a couple of the leaders think that they are cunning enough to make a fool out of everyone else. With the current environmental challenges being experiences, such mistakes should not be forgiven. Rather, the culprits should not only be fined but subjected to about five years of environmental programs using like half of the overall profits they make. Such measures are ae now necessary.

Response to Jessica Condon

Hello Jessica,

Your discussion post is very detailed, informative, and straight to the point. You have analyzed the Case of Barbara so well that she can now understand all basics of corporate taxation. In your post, you have mentioned the accrual method and the cash method of accounting for taxable income determination. These are concepts that might be difficult for a person without an insight on accounts such as Barbara. However, you have clearly outlined all the expenses that need to be invoiced very well. Some of the expenses which she needs to be cautious of are the bad-debt expenses, depreciation expenses, and death benefit and life insurance for employees. She should understand that the government should perceive her as just an employee for the company who needs to be paid and reimbursed fr every expense incurred in the course of doing business. With an accountant like you, Barbara would be well catered for and conversant with every principle and requirement of taxation. Your post was great, keep up the good work.
