The results depict that the Stroop effect becomes more apparent with age. While each individual vividly demonstrated the Stroop Effect, the youngest individual had the most significant difference in time. For instance, the youngest individual took 70.56 seconds while the eldest took only 47.22 seconds. This depicts a difference of 23.34 seconds. Therefore, the youngest individual took 23.34 seconds more compared to the eldest participant (35 years) while taking 7.31 seconds more compared to the other participant with 21 years of age. This was when the color was mismatched with the words, thus depicting that there is an age effect on the performance of the Stroop Effect (Sosa, 2007). In addition, the youngest individual vividly had more difficultly naming the colors when they were mismatched, even after taking their overall reading rate into consideration.

Similarly, the youngest individual also made more mistakes and showcased more uneasiness and frustration with the tasks. The other individuals were composed and found it easy to ascertain the color even when mismatched with the words, and the trend shows a decrease in reaction time as age increases. However, this may be limited to a certain age upon which the trend might reverse.
