Logical positivist has been known to always been known to deny the dependability of metaphysics and traditional philosophy thus arguing that all most of the problems found in philosophy are meaningless and without any foundation. It is known that logical positivists have always opposed atheism because the assertion of the existence of God sounds meaningless. They avoid the dissatisfaction that arises based on available arguments in favor of this belief. This assignment uses the tenets of logical positivism and Ayer’s grounds for eliminating metaphysics to justify the position of the Logical Positivists.

The tenets of logical positivists state that the study of nature and reality of human beings otherwise known as ontology does not make any sense. Even though it could be right, it has no meaning thus cannot be accepted by the logical positivists. Psychologists believe that there is no need to argue for meaningless ideas. Moreover, tenets of positives argue that the languages that people use to express their thoughts and ideas are symbolic to how things exist in the world. Therefore, the thought of a more superior being would prove that God actually exists. The fact that this crossed the mind of someone means that it is actually true ("Logical Positivism - By Branch / Doctrine - The Basics of Philosophy", 2017).

Ayer argues majorly that the moral judgment has no substitute. The belief is that there is no replacement in any form whatsoever. He agrees to moral intuitions even though he does not see the need to seek for moral truths. It is such for moral truths that lead to the state of atheism. Based on this, he strongly opposes metaphysics("Logical Positivism - By Branch / Doctrine - The Basics of Philosophy", 2017). In summary, Ayer’s ground of eliminating metaphysics and tenets of logical positives clearly indicate that atheism is based on the wrong foundation.
