Uniform data report denotes the crime trends and statistics collected and classified in accordance with their popularity and seriousness in legal persecutions. This uniform data report presents crime patterns and prevalence in four towns, which are recorded and published on an annual basis. The uniform data report gives an insight into the nature of crimes, and aids in pointing out possible causes and solutions to the crimes committed in each town. Most of the data obtained for this report was sourced from the FBI databases, which utilize uniform data reports to show the prevalence of crime. Data were obtained from the past five years thus creating a good approach to depicting the trends in various crimes in the four towns. The four towns are Frown town, Happy town, Cool town, and Smooth town. Each specific town has distinctive means of preventing and containing common crimes, and the report gives detailed attributes of crime patterns in each town. The uniform crimes report contains indexes and other figures that show a trend of crimes, which are not present in the documented crime data. Indeed, the classification of crime in this uniform crime report is essential in addressing the growing concern of high number of crimes committed. In this regard, this uniform data report elucidates the data gathering strategy in the four towns, and discusses the noticeable trends in crime among the four towns.

Principally, data collection on the crimes committed in the four towns required a prudent approach to avoid biases and conflict of interests. As evident from crime reports and prevalence of crime within Happy town, it was essential to create an alternative approach to gain reliable insight. The main data gathering technique used was in-depth interviews, after reviewing the data provided over the last five years. Data reviews from previous reports include the classification of each crime category and comparing the crime rates to establish a predictive trend in crime. As mentioned in the town reports, many crimes go unrecorded due to their nature. The community is driven into reporting serious crimes that cannot pass unnoticed. However, petty crimes which should also be indexed fail to give the true nature of uniform crime among the four towns. Moreover, the situations surrounding the recording of the crimes determine whether they make it into the uniform crime reports presented to the investigations bureau. Some other crimes lack adequate evidence to convict an individual of crime, and such crimes cannot be recorded due to the lack of concise proof that a crime happened. The classification of crimes in each town was also reviewed because the towns face different kinds of crime, which are committed at a higher rate. The use of interviews was thus the only reliable means of obtaining reliable data in each town.

Therefore, in-depth interviews were done on the competent officers responsible for apprehending a significant number of individuals. The in-depth interviews covered other members of law enforcement, and individuals convicted of crimes in any of the towns. The rationality of choosing interviews was to gain unbiased data since most crimes are not encompassed in the uniform crime reports presented annually. Concealed crimes by members of the community and law enforcement were also uncovered. Documents of crime reports in the five-year period were an essential part of analyzing crime in the four towns. The data collection strategy also utilized specific designs in the questionnaires provided during the interview. For instance, descriptive questions in the questionnaire allowed the research to obtain in-depth insight into the trends in crime among the towns.

The trends in crimes among the four towns are alarming. Ideally, some towns show a significant decline in the rates of crime, while others show an increased prevalence of general crimes. Common crimes in the four towns include those committed against properties and people. The classification of crimes gave the researchers the ability to uncover trends in crime. Murder and manslaughter are evident in the four towns, but the rates are relatively low. Smooth town and Frown town show a relatively low tendency of its inhabitants to commit part 1 crimes, which include murder or manslaughter. Over the past five years, each town has only experienced four deaths, thus depicting low trends in capital crimes.

The low prevalence of capital crimes within the two towns has been attributed to the increased vigilance of the community and cooperation with law enforcement. However, Happy town and Smooth towns indicate a relatively increasing level of part 1 crimes within their inhabitants. 2010 had zero incidences of part 1 crimes in Smooth town and Happy town, which shows the towns have negligible security concerns. Other part 2 crimes like forcible rape also follow the same trend in all the towns. The increase in part 2 crimes fosters the commitment of higher crimes like manslaughter and murder. In a nutshell, low levels of capital crimes in Cool town and Frown town show a corresponding decrease in capital crimes which are recorded. The numbers stipulated in part 1 crime were found to correspond to the data collected through in-depth interviews, showing that the category of crime is recorded effectively.

Additionally, the data analyzed shows that robberies are rife in three towns meaning that the respect for property is a major issue among the three towns. Indeed, the crime index of robberies is relatively high. Frown town, Happy town and Cool town have high levels of robberies, which are recorded in the reports. In addition, the number of non-documented robberies was relatively high in the three towns. Robbers who have been arrested but there was a lack of enough evidence for their conviction are high in the three towns that the robberies are rife. The evidence demonstrates that there is a rising level of petty crimes and robberies in the three mentioned towns.

Happy town is a hotspot for robberies and larceny-thefts. Notably, the town experienced a 5% rise in robbery-related crimes over a one-year period. The deterioration of values and the increase in crime is evident by the arrest of Chief Rodney Hurt’s son. Such crimes are often concealed, and never make it into the uniform crime reports. The three towns face a major crimes issue, which is not adequately documented in Uniform Crime reports. Other towns like Frown Town have enhanced their methodologies of fighting part 5 and 6 crimes. Indeed, community involvement and prudent investigations have lowered the rate of crimes in Frown town. Due to the participation of community members, most crimes in Frown town are recorded, with only negligible few being left out.

Frown town has managed to contain crimes against properties, but harm to people is still high with the major concern in the town being property safety. However, Smooth town data shows that robberies and violation of property rights are at their lowest. Smooth town has experienced a steady rise in the crime against property rights, but the crime index, taking into account the population of the town, is relatively low. The bottom line is, towns that have indulged the community in preventing crime have realized a low level of both capital and petty crimes. Another town which has experienced a significant drop in crimes over the five-year period is Cool town. The town has the most preferential drop in crime at 18%. Cool town embraces similar policies as Frown town, which uses community members to report crime and assist in consequent investigations. Moreover, the crime rate index is low compared to other towns. The crimes committed show low figures and suggest that the community is not experiencing acute security concerns. Nevertheless, the number of aggravated assault cases is high in all towns, creating the tendency of criminals to move towards part 1 crimes.
