Three types of Unemployment?

The three major forms of unemployment include cyclical, structural and frictional unemployment. Both the structural and frictional forms of unemployment fall under natural unemployment. Structural unemployment arises due to shifts in the economy or mismatch in which the employees' skills do not match the employer's expectation. An example is when machines which are more efficient replace human labor. A person who already has his or her old job but desires a new better job is said to be undergoing frictional unemployment. Cyclical unemployment arises when the rates of unemployment shoot up, and there is less demand for more workers ( Skenderi & Uka, 2015)

Are all three types of Unemployment Undesirable?

All the forms of unemployment may not generally be deemed as desirable as such. For instance, frictional unemployment does not necessarily implicate that a person entirely lacks a job. An individual may have a job alright, but would also wish to get a better one. The situation with his current job pushes this person to long for a better job. Cyclical and structural forms of unemployment, on the other hand, may be deemed as purely undesirable as they put workers in the real state of unemployment. In the existence of better workers or technology elsewhere, the local workers are abandoned, and employers ship their jobs abroad in order to get better quality of work. When cyclical unemployment hits a country, its economy also goes down, and other issues such as poverty also arise.

Could the advent of the Internet completely eliminate Frictional Unemployment?

The coming of the internet has created new jobs for people everywhere in the whole world. At the same time, this has also created unemployment for individuals who used to conduct their businesses manually. The coming of the internet seems to have done away with frictional unemployment as many literate people such as college students can now get various jobs online.
