I concur with group 2 conclusion that transformational change can benefit the organization in the long term. Organizations should always focus on employee satisfaction, creating an enabling environment. It is also essential to note that leaders within a company should be transformational leaders. As seen in the case of Harold Barelli, he had a vision for the company but lacked the skills and aptitudes of a transformational leader.
The best style of leadership that will fit in this case is transformational leadership, as mentioned above. With this kind of leadership style, the leaders within the organization have to focus on transforming the organization and their team to ensure that there is a constant improvement ( Northouse, 2018) . Other than having a vision of the future, they should be able to share it with their teams to ensure that every single employee is working towards attaining that shared goal and vision. Some characteristics that the leaders, in this case, lacked, are that they were not empathetic and self-aware.
