I concur with group 2 conclusion that transformational change can benefit the organization in the long term. Organizations should always focus on employee satisfaction, creating an enabling environment. It is also essential to note that leaders within a company should be transformational leaders. As seen in the case of Harold Barelli, he had a vision for the company but lacked the skills and aptitudes of a transformational leader.

The best style of leadership that will fit in this case is transformational leadership, as mentioned above. With this kind of leadership style, the leaders within the organization have to focus on transforming the organization and their team to ensure that there is a constant improvement ( Northouse, 2018) . Other than having a vision of the future, they should be able to share it with their teams to ensure that every single employee is working towards attaining that shared goal and vision. Some characteristics that the leaders, in this case, lacked, are that they were not empathetic and self-aware. Transactional leadership also ensures that they are capable of handling conflict within the organization ( Banks et al., 2016 ).

One recommendation, in this case, is to choose leaders who inspire a shared vision, promote others, and enable them to work towards the success of the goal. It is also essential to ensure that when leaders join the organization, they should learn the company culture before introducing changes, this is contrary to what Harold did. A good leader should be able to communicate ideas to their employees and give them a chance to evaluate it before implementing them ( Hawkins, 2017 ).

Change is essential in each and every company, but it is essential to understand the needs and demands of all the stakeholders involved, including the employees, investors, and customers. It is essential for any leader to analyze the whole situation and involve the stakeholders of all levels.
