A transformational leader can be described as one that takes control of the situation to bring about significant positive results by steering the team members towards the particular organization's utmost benefit (DuBrin, 2016). The leader chosen for this discussion is the Chief Executive Officer of Campbell Soup, Denise Morrison. She became the CEO in 2011 after working in the company for eight years, and her transformational leadership attributes have been vital in the company's success. In six years, she had already nearly doubled the company's stock value.

The transformational attribute that Denise Morrison showed throughout her leadership was a visionary role. Morrison pushed the boundaries of the company further from just being known for processing food products. She readjusted the company to keep up with the ever-evolving world's pace and align itself with the new ways that people view food today. Morrison worked to bring about differentiation of the products and services that they initially offered. One of the first ways she strived to achieve her goal was by instilling courage as a core value to motivate employees to be bold, courageous and take old moves (Marcus, 2021). With the fear of failing and making mistakes being down-sighted and the acceleration of decision-making and the building of the talent management, the company’s performance experienced a positive impact.

The transformational leadership attributes of being a visionary leader that inspires courage and motivation are critical for successful leadership. It inspires the workers even to surpass their expectations. These attributes are learnable by anyone and can be acquired through training and life experiences. There is always room for change in everyone, and anyone without those attributes can easily learn them.

The quality of being a visionary seems to be of high importance compared to other attributes. Being visionary means that the leader will drive the organization towards a successful future. The leader has to set goals and targets that will ensure the flexibility and transformation of the organization to meet the future needs of the market.
