Trade agreements are multinational treaties or trade pact signed by countries that come together and agree on terms that will help them to trade and do business with each other. The terms of trade agreement often include the safety standards of workers, minimum standards for food safety and strategies of avoiding environmental pollution among other trade regulations. Therefore, all trade agreements should come to terms with the above characteristics to ensure world safety of the whole ecosystem and attain mutual benefits of regulated trade agreements (Spence, 2019).
There are several positive consequences of using trade agreement to ensure health safety of workers in their respective countries, food safety and environmental protection. First, labor standards are linked to changes that are occurring in the global market place. They ensure that the trading partners achieve a common ground to eliminate unfair competition and economic advantage. Burtless (2017) asserted that labor standards promote health and safety of workers to minimize accidents related cases that would cause production stoppages and compromise quality of products for the international trade. Trade agreements also aim to promote hygiene by preserving welfare of workers engaged in trading establishments and promoting occupational safety to maintain a healthy working environment.

Ensuring food safety in trade pact minimizes selling of agricultural food products that have high content of sprayed chemicals that would be harmful to human health. Food safety act in trade agreement helps to make sure that consumers are supplied with food that is safe to eat. Still, the agreement allows trading countries to use approved standards to inspect food products to ensure they are acceptable to the importing country (Spence, 2019). To the environment, trade agreement can help to manage the environment more effectively by making access to new technologies that are environmental friendly other than using water and any other form of energy that is harmful to the surroundings. The treaties ensure cleaner production process that result to a safer environment. Failure to control trade may have a negative direct impact on environment like pollution and exploitation of natural resources (Spence, 2019).
